THE C-QUIP REPORT

As a result of the current growing demand for C-Quip carbon fibre marine custom designed products, our experienced Aerospace Division designers have been enthusiastic to assist our Marine designers. They are enjoying applying their skills to design equipment that endures the harsh marine environment. Carbon fibre is a versatile material which has reduced maintenance costs due to its non corrosive properties.

Our finite element analysis (FEA) computer model measures the stress and deflection of complex structures and allows us to verify that a proposed design will perform and meet the client’s specifications.

Taking Care of Tenders

When we designed the tender fenders and boat booms our objective was to eliminate the costly damage to the tenders when sitting alongside. The increased value of chic designed vessels has contributed to the growing demand for protection from damage to the mega yacht and tenders.

Tender Fenders

The tender fenders are manufactured from carbon fibre as a functional product that C-Quip is renowned for. The units are customized to suit the transom profile of your vessel and the design and weight of your tender.

Visitors to Monaco and Mets Boat Shows can testify to the high quality of finish and the light weight of the units for the ease of handling when deploying or stowing the tender fenders.

Boat Booms

The hydraulically actuated boat boom (tender pole) extends out of the side of the yacht replacing the more traditional tender whips. The double acting cylinders are operated by wireless remote control for fast deployment. When not in use the boom is self stowing and takes approximately 60 seconds to retract into the side of the yacht. The end cover plate is painted the same colour as the vessel and sits flush with the hull.

Light Masts

The two and three stage telescoping lightmast are for motor yachts over 50 meters. Hydraulically operated they can extend up to 10 metres. Concealed below deck the mast is completely retracted when not in use, eliminating the need for a permanent structure on the foredeck. Constructed from carbon fibre with stainless steel hardware the lightmast can withstand hurricane conditions without requiring any stays for support.

The ease of operation is of paramount importance to C-Quip and the light mast which is operated from the bridge or a hand held pendant has passed the functionality test on vessels.
